Privacy Policy
Effective August 13, 2026
The short version: RANKED IRL has no accounts, no ads, no analytics, and no tracking. Your training data lives on your phone. The only thing that ever leaves your device is a meal photo you choose to scan — sent to an AI service for a nutrition estimate, with your explicit consent, and nothing else attached.
Who we are
RANKED IRL is an iOS training and nutrition app operated by an independent developer. Contact for anything in this policy: herosmithery@gmail.com.
What stays on your device
- Workouts and character progress — sets, reps, runs, rounds, XP, attributes, and streaks are stored in the app's private storage on your phone.
- Camera form analysis — the camera analyzes your movement entirely on device using Apple's Vision framework. No video frame, photo, or pose data from form checking is ever uploaded, recorded, or shared.
- Apple Health data — with your permission, the app reads (such as age, height, weight, heart rate, activity) and writes (nutrition entries, workouts) Health data locally. Health data never leaves your device and is never transmitted to us or anyone else.
- Verification selfie — if you verify your identity for future online play, the selfie is checked on device and stored only in the app's private storage. It is not uploaded.
- Location — used to show nearby gyms on the map and to measure outdoor runs (speed, distance, pace). Location data stays on your device.
What leaves your device, and when
- Meal photos (optional, with consent) — if you use photo food scanning, the photo you take is sent to a third-party AI service (OpenRouter) to estimate its nutrition. You are asked for explicit permission before the first upload. No name, account, location, or Health data accompanies the photo. If you never use photo scanning, nothing is uploaded.
- Barcode and food searches — scanning a barcode queries the Open Food Facts database; searching foods by name queries the USDA FoodData Central database. Only the barcode number or your search words are sent — nothing about you.
- AI nutrition questions (optional) — questions you type to the Nutritionist AI are sent to the same third-party AI service to generate an answer.
What we never do
- No accounts — we cannot identify you and hold no profile of you.
- No analytics or telemetry SDKs, no crash-data harvesting, no advertising, no tracking across apps, and no sale or sharing of personal information — we have none to sell.
Payments
Subscriptions are processed entirely by Apple through your Apple ID. We never see or store your payment details. Manage or cancel anytime in Settings → Apple ID → Subscriptions.
Deleting your data
Settings → Privacy & data → Delete all my data permanently erases everything the app stores — training history, character, food logs, selfie, and preferences — and returns the app to a fresh state. Deleting the app does the same. Health data the app wrote can also be removed in the Apple Health app.
Your rights (GDPR & CCPA)
Because your data is on your device and not on our servers, you exercise access, correction, portability, and erasure directly in the app. We hold no personal data to disclose, correct, or delete on your behalf, and we do not sell or share personal information as defined by the CCPA. EU users may lodge a complaint with their supervisory authority; California users have the right to non-discrimination for exercising privacy rights.
Children
RANKED IRL is not directed at children under 13 and is rated 13+. We do not knowingly collect information from children.
Not medical advice
RANKED IRL is a training and nutrition tracking app, not a medical device. Nothing in the app diagnoses, treats, or prevents any condition. Consult a physician before starting a new training or nutrition program.
Changes
If this policy changes, the new version will be posted at this address with an updated effective date. Material changes will be noted in the app.
