Fastest way to reach a human is Instagram DM. Email is checked daily. There is no phone line — it is one developer, not a call centre.
When you write in, say what iPhone you have and what iOS version. It saves a round trip.
Common questions
I paid, then reinstalled, and my subscription is gone
Open the app, go to the paywall and tap Restore purchases. Your subscription lives on your Apple ID, not in the app, so it comes back. Make sure you are signed into the same Apple ID that bought it.
How do I cancel?
Cancelling is handled by Apple, not by us: Settings → your name → Subscriptions → RANKED IRL → Cancel. Cancel at least 24 hours before the period ends or it renews. Deleting the app does not cancel a subscription.
I want a refund
Refunds are issued by Apple, and we cannot process them. Request one at reportaproblem.apple.com. If something in the app was broken, message us too — we would rather fix it.
The coach camera is not counting my reps
- Stand so your whole body is in frame — head and feet both visible. The app tells you on screen when you are cut off.
- Put the phone side-on to you for squats, hinges and presses.
- Good light helps. A dark gym corner is the most common cause.
- If someone else walks behind you, the app locks onto whoever it saw first. Step out and back in to reset.
The meal scan got my food wrong
Photo estimates are approximations, not measurements — the app says so before you use it. For an exact number, scan the barcode or the nutrition label instead: those are the manufacturer's own figures and are read on your phone. You can also edit any entry after it lands.
Why does the coach only say a few lines?
Your coach speaks in their own recorded voice. The app deliberately does not use a synthetic narrator to read numbers at you, because that is a different voice and it broke the illusion. Reps are counted with tones and the numbers stay on screen. If you would rather have detail read aloud, turn on Settings → Voice → Read details aloud — be aware that narrator is not your coach.
Backing up and moving to a new phone
All your data is on your device — we have no servers and no account to sync from. Before you switch phones or delete the app, use Settings → Privacy & data → Export my data to save a backup file, then Restore from an export file on the new device.
Deleting everything
Settings → Privacy & data → Delete all my data permanently erases everything the app stores and returns it to a fresh state. It cannot be undone, so export a backup first if you might want your history back.
Reporting a bug
If the app crashed, open Settings → Your data → Diagnostics and tap Send report to the developer. Reports are kept on your phone and are only ever sent when you tap that button — nothing is uploaded automatically. iOS hands them over at most once a day, plus once the next time you open the app after a crash, so a report may take a day to appear.

RANKED IRL is made by John Kraeger, an independent developer in Wilmington, North Carolina — not a company with a support floor. Email and Instagram are the fastest ways to reach a real person, and they reach the only person there is.
